Submitted by Candy: If you go to Attingham Park by bike or bus you can have free entry to the gardens. (Some other National Trust properties/gardens are also either free or have reduced entrance fee if you use green transport.)

Candy recommends Lin Brown's art days and weekends. www.wayofcreativity.com Art with meditation - wonderful, inspiring combination. Brilliant for all those who think they aren't artistic or have or an artistic block or just want a peaceful place to be creative. Car lift from Shrewsbury usually possible.

Submitted by Candy: If you buy a DAY RETURN rail ticket, you can break your journey on your way home (on the same day). It's cheaper than buying singles. e.g. If you went to Hereford, you could get out in Ludlow and Church Stretton on your way back. You can break your journey on the way home as many times as you want but you can't break your journey on the way to your destination.

Submitted by Paul: The Four Crosses pub near Bicton do weekday lunch for £5. This is a salad bar starter, followed by a carvery.
